Top 5 paid iPod Touch games (Jan 2011)
This is my top 5 paid games from the appstore that are my favourites and are the best to play, have good graphics/unique style and are all round the best games on my iPod Touch. (Will be updated fortnightly/whenever I find new best games)
Note**: This round has been incredibly hard to pick a top 5, as the iDevice game standard has heavily increased the 2nd half of 2010. I listed runners up at the bottom, as well as previous winners from earlier lists.
#1 - Infinity Blade
Slashing and stabbing it's way into number 1 is Infinity Blade. A game that hit the appstore by storm and impressed an incredible amount of buyers despite the price of $7.99. It's first update was released recently, which features more items and another enemy to fight. It provides plenty of game play, and has incredible graphics, the best I have seen on the iDevice. Waiting for a little more content though.
Full Review.
#2 - Backbreaker 2
This is an app I bought just recently, and has definitely impressed me for $1.19. If you're a fan of American Football, this game is for you. Stunning graphics, decent amount of content, challenging, and very addictive.
You can either be the ball carrier or defense, and have to score a touchdown by avoiding players with moves such as jukes, spins and jumps. If you choose defense, you have to avoid the opposing 'team's' players and chase down the carrier. A must have on any NFL lovers iPod. One thing I don't like, is that it doesn't feature real NFL teams due to licensing reasons.
#3 - Ninjatown: Trees of Doom
Ninjatown has been my most addicting game for a couple of weeks now, and the thing that keeps my coming back is the 32 awards to unlock and great retina graphics that keep you tangled in the game. The aim is simple, climb as high as you can go without falling into syrup, being killed by devils, or getting stung by bees. Trust me, it's not as easy as it looks. Impress your master, for only $2.49 AUD.
Full review soon!
#4 - Flick Golf!
Slicing into number 4 is Flick Golf! by FullFat games. If you're into golf, you can't miss out on this, and if not, you will like it as it's just like the popular game Paper Toss, except you can control the spin on the ball up until 3 bounces, giving a great game play experience. Go for the perfect shot! With stunning retina display, and more levels soon to come, this game is a sure hit, for a price of $1.19 AUD.
#5- TimeGeeks
One of the best games I've played on the iDevice that has demonstrated the Retina display, although the game is made to be pixelated and retro/future themed. For $1.19, TimeGeeks features over 110 search & find levels for your enjoyment. Definitely a MUST buy for all the content it has (8 extra mini-games, island editors).
Runners Up!
- Parking Mania (So much content, but little effort in display.).
- NFL 2011 by Gameloft (Great replay value & got me interested in NFL).
- Fruit Ninja (play a couple of times per update type of game).
- Fragger (Plenty of levels with generous updates).
- Eenies at War (So addictive but lacks a lot of things.)

I have to admit that Fruit Ninja is pretty addictive. One of my guilty pleasures for when I need to waste some time.

Yeah I love Flick Golf, I just wish they released an update soon.
AngryBirds 20 months ago
Angry birds is a sweet game. Playing it on my iPhone 4 and man some of the levels are tough. Can't wait for theme 11 to come out.
